Odisha weather forecast: IMD issues thunderstorm warning to Cuttack, Puri, Khurda along with 18 districts; heavy rainfall likely

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather alert issued a Yellow Warning for thunderstorms over several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of August 25: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Koraput districts.

The weather further forecasts heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

From 8.30 AM of August 25 to 8.30 AM of August 26: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts.

The weather further forecast heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri and Koraput districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and at a few places over the remaining districts of Odisha.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, rain or thundershower is expected to occur towards afternoon or evening. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 33 degree Celsius and 24 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 35.2 degree Celsius was recorded at Paralakhemundi while the lowest minimum temperature of 23.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani, the weather alert of August 24 informed.
