Odisha weather March 31: IMD issues Orange Warning for these districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Friday issued Orange Warning for several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of April 1: The weather agency predicts that thunderstorm with lightning, hailstorm, and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the several districts of the state.

IMD has issued Orange Warning (be updated) for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, and Khurda. It also predicted heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, and Cuttack.

In the same timeframe, Yellow Warning (be updated) has also been issued. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of North Odisha and at many places over the districts of South Odisha.

From 8.30 AM of April 1 to 8.30 AM of April 2: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the several districts of Odisha.

The regional weather agency issued a Yellow Warning for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 38.7 degrees Celcius was recorded in Sonepur district and the lowest minimum temperature of 17.5 degrees Celcius was recorded in Sundargarh and Jagatsinghpur districts of the state Thursday.

Maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to fall by 2 to 4 degrees Celcius during the next 2 days and again it will gradually rise thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.

In Bhubaneswar, rain or thundershower with strong gusty wind is expected. Maximum and Minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 33 degrees Celcius and 21 degrees Celcius respectively.
