Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Monday issued an Orange Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of May 1: As per the Orange Warning (be prepared), thunderstorm with lightning, gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph, heavy rainfall are very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Gajapati districts.
As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning, gusty surface wind with speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over Angul, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of the state.
From 8.30 AM of May 1 to 8.30 AM of May 2: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada districts.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of the state.
The weather agency forecasted no change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over the next four to five days and a slight increase thereafter.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a generally cloudy sky with light rain is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 30 degree Celsius and 24 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 39.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Bhubaneswar while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Nuapada, the bulletin informed.
