Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Wednesday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of May 11: As per the Yellow Warning (be prepared), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts, the IMD bulletin stated.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Koraput. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
From 8.30 AM of May 11 to 8.30 AM of May 12: The weather agency predicted that light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Mayurbhanj. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
The weather agency forecasted no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over next five days at many places in the state. The maximum temperature is very likely to be 40 degree Celsius or more at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha for next five days.
Hot and discomfort weather is very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha over next two days and over interior Odisha over next five days. People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards the afternoon or evening is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 39 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 42.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Boudh while the lowest minimum temperature of 23 degree Celsius was recorded at Bhadrak, Phulbani and Nabarangpur, the bulletin informed.
