Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Thursday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of May 12: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Gajapati and Ganjam districts, the IMD bulletin stated.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Koraput, Rayagada and Malkangiri. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
From 8.30 AM of May 12 to 8.30 AM of May 13: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri and Ganjam districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha.
The weather agency forecasted no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over next four days and a rise thereafter across the state. The maximum temperature is very likely to be 40 degree Celsius and above at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha over next five days. People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with possibility of thunder or lightning is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 38 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 42.9 degree Celsius was recorded at Jharsuguda while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani, the bulletin informed.
