Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Wednesday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of May 4: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Balangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Koraput districts, the IMD bulletin stated.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Nuapada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Bhadrak, Jajpur and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha.
From 8.30 AM of May 4 to 8.30 AM of May 5: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Kalahandi districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places in the state.
The weather agency forecasted no change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over the next three days and a gradual rise by 3 to 5 degree Celsius thereafter.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a cloudy sky with the possibility of thunder or lightning is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 34 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 37.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Bhubaneswar while the lowest minimum temperature of 20.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Malkangiri, the bulletin informed.
