Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Friday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of May 6: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Bolangir, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi districts.
In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Balasore and at one or two places over the rest districts of the state.
From 8.30 AM of May 6 to 8.30 AM of May 7: The weather agency forecasted that light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nabarangpur and one or two places over the rest districts coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Kandhamal districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of the state.
The weather agency forecasted no change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over the districts in the next 24 hours and a gradual rise by 3 to 5 degree Celsius thereafter.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunderstorm is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 36 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 36.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Nuapada and Jharsuguda while the lowest minimum temperature of 21.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani and Nabarangpur, the bulletin informed.
