Odisha weather: Rains likely to intensify gradually after two days while cyclonic circulation brews in BoB

Bhubaneswar: Rainfall is likely to increase gradually in Odisha after September 2 and heavy rains are likely in some pockets, the regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar has said.

The weather agency further spotted a cyclonic circulation that lies over northeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal.

Upto 8.30 AM of August 31: IMD forecast light to moderate rain or thundershower which is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.

From 8.30 AM of August 31 to 8.30 AM of September 1: The weather agency issued a Yellow Warning (be updated) that predicted thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir and Nuapada districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thunderstorm or lightning is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 35 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 36.2 degree Celsius was recorded at Chandbali and Baripada while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani, the bulletin informed.
