Bhubaneswar: A youth was found hanging in a hotel room in Bhubaneswar’s Jagamara area, a source said Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Durga Charan Mishra. He was a native of Niali in Cuttack district, the source informed.
According to the source, Mishra had booked the hotel room to celebrate his birthday Saturday. His rumoured girlfriend was also present at the party. Later, Mishra allegedly hanged himself using the scarf of his rumoured girlfriend while she had gone to the washroom.
On the other hand, the deceased’s family members brought in allegations of murder and lodged an FIR at Khandagiri Police Station.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem. Besides, Mishra’s mobile phone has also been seized. The cops are questioning friends of the deceased.
