Bhawanipatna: A youth escaped death by a whisker and lost one of his hands and both legs after being hit by a train while crossing the railway tracks at Ramachandrapur under Bhawanipatna Sadar police limits in Kalahandi district, Wednesday night.
The victim identified as Sudam Bhoi, a native of Ramachandrapur village, was knocked down by a Junagarh-bound Ratha Jatra special train from Puri. The freak mishap has sent shockwaves in the area. Government Railway Police (GRP) rescued him in critical condition and admitted him to the district headquarters hospital at Bhawanipatna.
