Odisha’s Tarabha Police Station among top 10 in the country

Bhubaneswar: Tarabha Police Station in Subarnapur district has been adjudged as one of the 10 best police stations in the country, official sources said here Wednesday.

The Tarabha Police Station has been selected in the annual ranking of police stations for the year 2018, said DGP RP Sharma while handing over the certificate and memento to Debi Prasad Dash, SP Subarnapur and Dulamani Bhoi, inspector-in- charge (IIC) of Tarabha police station. The certificate has been issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Earlier in the DGPs/IGPs conference-2016, it was decided to award 10 best performing police stations of the country on the basis of their performance on various angles.

The Bureau of Police Research and Development had suggested a performance measurement system for grading the police stations. Tarabha Police Station got the award on the basis of performance measurement system as it fulfilled all the criteria, RP Sharma said.

Quality Council of India (QCI) was entrusted to carry out the survey for grading police stations across the country.

The criteria for measuring the best police stations include smart policing, use of technology in delivery of services, citizen centric policing, public relations and community policing, people women and child friendly policing, better grievance redressal mechanism and others.

DGP Sharma also congratulated SP Subarnapur and IIC and staff of the Tarabha police station.
