Cuttack: It was a dream come true for tribal singing sensation Namita Melaka as she recorded her first ever song, a devotional composition on Lord Jagannath, at a studio in Cuttack Sunday.
Impressed with the melodious voice of this tribal girl from Chintaguda village in Koraput district, Odia actress Varsha Priyadarshini had promised to help Namita in realising her dreams. Keeping her words given earlier, Varsha took to Twitter and informed about this.

The four-minute long Jagannath bhajan ‘Ninuna, Jiuti Jibana …’ was penned by renowned lyricist Bijay Malla in both Kui and Odia dialects and was recorded under the guidance of popular Odia music director Prem Anand. The music video will be released soon on Varsha’s YouTube channel, Anand informed.
Namita became an internet sensation and earned accolades from netizens across the state after a video of her singing the Hindi song ‘Chunar’ from the film ‘ABCD 2’ went viral on social media.
