Bhubaneswar: An assistant professor of Odisha Engineering College (OEC) was arrested for allegedly throwing acid on a truck driver and helper in this capital town Saturday.
The arrested has been identified as Kaushik Mohanty.
According to reports, Dandadhara Behera, a truck driver, had gone to Satya Vihar near Mancheswar with his truck to bring a load of consignment at 3.30 pm.
When the movement of truck damaged the road, Mohanty had a verbal spat with the truck driver.
In a fit of rage, Mohanty threw acid on the face of truck driver and helper.
Both the injured have been admitted to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. They sustained injuries on their face, chest and other parts of the body.
A case has been registered with Mancheswar police.
