OHRC summons Twin City traffic DCP for personal appearance January 11

Bhubaneswar: For early disposal of a pending case pertaining to traffic mismanagement, the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) has issued a summon Thursday afternoon to the Twin City DCP (Traffic) for personal appearance before it. The police official has been asked to appear before the commission January 11.

“Since in absence of the DCP (Traffic) Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, this Commission is unable to dispose of the case and despite our order, DCP (Traffic) has not appeared before the Commission today, the Commission feels it appropriate to issue summons to the DCP (Traffic), Bhubaneswar-Cuttack for securing personal appearance before the Commission,” the OHRC Office order stated.

“The order was sent earlier by e-mail on 14.12.2020. The DCP (Traffic) Bhubaneswar-Cuttack is neither present today not there is any communication,” the OHRC Office order pointed out.

Notably, a pending road accident case had led to traffic management issue, following which the OHRC had taken cognizance of it.

The Commission had previously asked the DCP to remain present in person at 12 noon December 29, for rendering assistance to the Commission for disposal of the case which took place under the Twin City Commissionerate Police limits.
