This year, the OJEE will see a major change with nursing courses being added to the entrance test for the first time. Previously, the examination was limited to pharmacy and other technical or professional programs, while nursing admissions were handled independently by the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET). The decision to integrate nursing into OJEE-2025 was made based on a recommendation from the DMET, according to officials.
According to the official, around 92,000 candidates have registered for this year’s entrance test, which is an increase of about 26,000 from 2024. Of these, around 20,000 students are expected to appear for the basic BSc nursing examination.
The OJEE committee has clarified that only those qualifying through OJEE-2025 will be eligible for admission to the basic BSc nursing course in Odisha. NEET-qualified candidates will not be considered for this program in the state.
