Liquor trader kills one, injures three in Bargarh

Bargarh: A liquor trader allegedly killed a person and injured three others at Sohela Bazaar in Bargarh district, late Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Sanjeev Pradhan, a resident of Chhattisgarh, and the three injured youths are of Badipali village under Bijepur police limits in Bargarh district.

According to sources, Pradhan, had Tuesday gone to a liquor shop at Sohela Bazaar after watching ‘Rabana Podi’.

After consuming liquor at the shop, the three youths refused to pay following which an altercation ensued between the liquor shop owner and the trio. It took an ugly turn as the liquor trader attacked Sanjeev and the three youths with a knife leaving them critically injured.

They were admitted to Sohela Community Health Centre, where Sanjeev succumbed to his injuries. On the other hand, the liquor trader and one of his associates, who was also involved in the attack, escaped after the incident.

On being informed, police officials reached the place and have started an investigation into the matter. Efforts are on to apprehend the accused.
