Jagatsinghpur: A person was killed and another critically injured after the bike they were riding on collided with a Hyva truck on NH-55 near Jogadhari in Jagatsinghpur district Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Suryakanta Satpathy of Teratanga village near Balikuda.
The injured person Muna Das of Alabhara village was first rushed to Jagatsinghpur district headquarters hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The accident took place when Suryakanta along with his friend Muna Das of Alabhara village were going to Cuttack at 5.30 am. The bike collided with the truck which was coming from the opposite direction due to poor visibility.
On being informed police reached the spot and launched an investigation. However, the driver fled the scene after the accident.
