Mumbai: Contrary to speculation, Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar and his daughter Supriya Sule will attend the second National Opposition parties’ conclave in Bengaluru Tuesday, a top party official said here Monday.

The NCP supremo, who was scheduled to reach Bengaluru Monday, postponed his trip by a day for certain reasons and hence will not be joining the Opposition dinner there tonight.

“Pawar Saheb and Supriya Sule are reaching Bengaluru tomorrow morning and shall attend the main Opposition meeting,” NCP National Spokesperson Clyde Crasto told IANS, scorching all the hearsay to the contrary.

Simultaneously, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP and chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut said that party President and ex-Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is travelling to Bengaluru for the Opposition meeting.

He also tweeted that Pawar shall join the Opposition huddle in Bengaluru Tuesday – “I am sure of it… We stand united!”

Notably, The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will attend the meeting in Bengaluru, party leader Raghav Chadha announced Sunday.

After a meeting of the AAP’s highest decision-making body — political affairs committee (PAC) — at party national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence in New Delhi, Chadha also welcomed the Congress’ decision to oppose in Parliament the Centre’s ordinance on the control of administrative services in Delhi.

The AAP had earlier said it would join the meeting in Bengaluru only if the Congress extended its support to the AAP in opposing the Delhi ordinance in Parliament.
