Cuttack: Orissa High Court Thursday lifted the interim stay on publication of Odisha Civil Services examination 2021 results.

The court, which had earlier issued an interim stay on publication of results, today lifted the stay and asked OPSC (Odisha Public Service Commission) to reserve a seat for a PwD (Person with Disabilities) aspirant who had approached it.

Hearing a petition filed by Satish Kumar Panigrahi, the PwD aspirant, the High Court single-judge bench of Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra had ordered the interim stay on the announcement of the Civil Services 2021 results July 21.

In response to the interim order of July 21, OPSC — represented by Senior advocate Pradipta Kumar Mohanty — had filed an interim petition citing that the stay on the Odisha Civil Services 2021 results on the petition of the PwD candidate would affect hundreds of others.

Hearing OPSC’s petition, the court also ordered the agency not to make any appointment for this seat without its permission.

The PwD candidate had contended that he was not being allowed to participate in the personality test of the recruitment examination. Subsequently, he had approached the court seeking an order directing OPSC to allow him to participate in the test.

Satish – who applied under PwD category in the recruitment drive — had provided a disability certificate indicating therein that he had 40 per cent temporary disability.
