Orissa Snooker Premier League: Owners reveal team jerseys

Bhubaneswar, August 28: The franchise owners of the different teams of the Orissa Snooker Premier League (OSPL) gave final touches to their preparations by releasing their team jerseys at the Vintage Club here Friday.

The four teams are- Purple Sqirrel, Q-ing Saddles, Blue Hawks and Baize Rulers. The tournament would be played in league basis. The top team would qualify for the final directly and the bottom team to be eliminated. The second and third team would play the knockout and the winner would enter the final.

The champion team would receive the trophy along with cash award of Rs 60,000 and the first runner up would get Rs 30,000 and the second runner up to get Rs 15,000.

Talking about the preparations, Baize Rulers’ owner said, “I am very confident about my team. We have had regular practice sessions and now it is the time to perform on the baize.”

“Nishant Biswal was out of the town for sometime but he has come back and is in serious form, so I am optimistic about the outcome,” he added.

Most of the teams have been able to draw the attention of some sponsors which is seen as a massive boost the different team owners.

“We have been able to take three sponsors on board and likewise all the other teams have also done so. We didn’t this to happen but I am glad that people have started taking interest in OSPL even before the start of it,” said Shyam agarwal, owner of Blue Hawks.
