Cuttack, August 6: The Orissa Small Industries Corporation (OSIC) will revive its export cell by the end of this fiscal to promote exports by MSME units in the state, a top official said.
“We will soon revive the export cell of OSIC, which will help in exports by state-based MSME units,” BB Behera, managing director of OSIC said.
He also said that OSIC will act as a consortium for facilitating exports of products in overseas market.
Behera also pointed out that cashew should be included under the Odi-Food series for its exports to foreign market.
Behera was present at an event to discuss on new foreign trade policy here.
Addressing the event, state MSME secretary, Panchanan Dash said two committees should be formed by Directorate of Export Promotion and Marketing for facilitating exports from the state.
“One committee should concentrate on products that could be exported from the state and another should help in identifying the geographies to which these products could be exported,” Dash said.
