OSSC announces regular teacher preliminary exam date; details here

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) Wednesday released a schedule of computer-based preliminary examination to be carried out for recruitment of regular teachers in government secondary schools in the state.

“It is for information of all concerned that the Preliminary Examination for the post of Regular Teacher-2022 shall be conducted across the State from 10.03.2023 to 13.03.2023 through Computer Based Recruitment Test in 3 batches,” the OSSC said in a notification posted on its website.

“Candidates concerned are advised to download their Admission Letter in the link provided on the Home page (What’s New) of the website of the Commission www.ossc.gov.in from 02.03.2023 onwards by using their User Id & Password to appear at the examination in the venue on date & time mentioned therein,” the notification stated.

The commission has asked people with disabilities (PwD) having disabilities not less than 40 per cent of permanent nature to apply for taking assistance of a scribe in the prescribed format along with the required documents by March 3, 2023.

“No other mode of communication will be entertained in this regard. Any application/request to avail scribe facility received after the said date will not be considered. Under no circumstances a PWD candidate shall be allowed to use a scribe in the examination without taking prior permission from the Commission,” the commission added.

The preliminary examination consists of 100 questions carrying one mark each. The duration of the examination is two hours and there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Notably, around 7,540 regular teachers will be recruited by OSSC after completion of all the stages of examination. A whopping 72,585 teaching aspirants have applied for the vacant posts.

It can be mentioned here that OSSC regular teacher examination has three stages such as preliminary examination, mains examination and certificate verification.
