Cuttack: Scores of aspirants Monday staged a protest in front of Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha’s office in Cuttack alleging irregularities in the conduction of Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET).
The protesting aspirants gheraoed the BSE office and highlighted alleged errors in question papers and publication of results. The candidates further demanded revision of the marks and a grant of 10 grace marks.
“Though we had challenged the answer key by paying Rs500 per question [for reevalution], our marks have not been revised. The truth will come out if OMR sheet is provided to us. But the authorities are not doing this,” an agitating candidate claimed.
Another protesting candidate said, “We want OTET to be conducted by the authorities twice every year. Similarly, the junior teacher exam should be conducted after completion of the OTET.”
The aspirants further demanded the earliest release of notification for the OTET.
However, a response from the board has not been received yet.
Notably, the OTET results were announced last week.
