Bhubaneswar: The honorary rank of Colonel of NCC and Colonel Commandant of Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) was conferred on OUAT vice-chancellor Surendranath Pasupalak here Thursday.
Deputy Director General of National Cadet Corps (NCC), commodore Shailendra Singh, conferred the rank of Colonel Commandant on Pasupalak at a pipping ceremony organised at the institute’s MS Swaminathan Hall here in the afternoon.
Pointing out the instrumental role of NCC in inculcating values of life among the students, Pasupalak assured that the university would make necessary provisions to motivate more students into joining NCC, thereby improving the quality of life.
Thanking the NCC Directorate, state and the Central governments for granting such prestigious rank to him, the OUAT VC promised to give his best so as to take the bond between the public and NCC to new heights.
