Bubaneswar, Dec 16: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Orissa Legislative Assembly Monday reprimanded the General Administration department (GAD) over improper maintenance of its accounts.
The Committee, presided over by the chairman and leader of the Opposition Narasingha Mishra, pulled up the GA department for the irregularities pointed out in the Comptroller and Auditor General’s report in 2005-06.
“As the reports were not prepared on time, the committee could not carry out its discussions properly. I would request the GA department to work as per the laws hereafter,” Mishra warned the officials.
The committee also questioned the improper maintenance of accounts by the Home department.
Meanwhile, Biju Janata Dal chief whip Ananta Das said, “Be it GA, Home or any other department, it takes time to compile a report on the basis of data from all 314 blocks across state.”
