Bhubaneswar: In view of the ensuing car festival, the Suvadra Art Gallery here is hosting a paintings exhibition on Lord Jagannath from July 14 to July 28.
Gallery chairman Surya Rath told reporters Tuesday a large collection of fine arts including contemporary, water colour, charcoal and mixed media paintings will be on display during the expo exclusively devoted to Lord Jagannath.
Gallery director Ashok Nayak also claimed that the exhibition is dedicated to the promotion of Jagannath culture among art lovers. About 50 paintings by eminent artists like Prafulla Mohanti (London), Late Dinanath Pathy, Pranam Singh (Banaras), Sunil Viswakarma (Banaras) , Rabi Narayana Rath, Baladev Moharatha, Manas Ranjan Jena, Durga Das, Siba Panigrahi, Kumud Dash, Binodini Behera, Tapan Dash and others will be showcased at the exhibition to create Jagannath awareness.
Lalit Kala Akademi also plans to host a painting exhibition on the Trinity during the festival, said Akademi secretary Manas Ranjan Jena.
