Mumbai: Actress Sonali Bendre turns a year older Friday.
Relationships between Hindi film actresses and cricketers are not surprising. Several actresses have fallen in love of cricketers and vice versa.
In the past, we have seen Anushka Sharma getting married to Virat Kohli. Similarly, the love story of Yuvraj Singh and Deepika Padukone, Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech who is now his wife also hogged the limelight back in the day.
Not many know that Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar was head over heels with Sonali Bendre, the beautiful actress of the 90’s who was once the heartthrob of the nation. The cricketer revealed in one of his interviews that he met Sonali during a match.
Akhtar confessed that he found her very cute and had even thought of proposing her for marriage. And he said that if she had denied her proposal then he would have kidnapped her. However, he said that he was just joking and was not serious.
Sonali married filmmaker Goldie Behl in 2002 and has a son named Ranveer.
4 July 2018 she revealed on Twitter that she has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and was undergoing treatment at a New York City hospital. The actor returned home in December 2018.
Sonali has been away from films for a long time. She was last seen in a cameo role in the 2013 film Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara.
