Bhubaneswar: As the days near for one of the biggest festivals of the state— Durga Puja— the puja organisers are brainstorming their creative faculty to render magic and surprise to the pandals.
Orissa POST has already reported about the pandals in Saheed Nagar and Nayapalli and how the organisers have planned their Chhota Imambara and Chittor Fort, respectively. Not to forget the fictional style pandal titled ‘Flower Gate’ by Rasulgarh puja committee.
So in that race for novelty and grandiloquence, the Jharpada Durga Puja Committee has come up with the idea of the famous Disneyland in Paris.
Disneyland, Paris— formerly Euro Disney Resort— is an entertainment resort in Marne-la-Vallée, France, a new town located 32 km east of the centre of Paris. It encompasses two theme parks, many resort hotels, Disney Nature Resorts, a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex, and a golf course, in addition to several additional recreational and entertainment venues. Disneyland Park is the original theme park of the complex, opening with the resort April 12, 1992. A second theme park, Walt Disney Studios Park, opened in 2002, 10 years after the original park. Disneyland Paris celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2017. Within 25 years of opening, 320 million people visited Disneyland Paris making it the most visited theme park in Europe. The Parisian resort is the second Disney Park to open outside the United States following the opening of the Tokyo Disney Resort in 1983 and is the largest Disney resort to open outside of the United States. Disneyland Paris is also the only Disney resort outside of the United States to be completely owned by The Walt Disney Company.
Ugrasen Mangaraj of Jharapada Committee said that more than 50 artists from Kolkata have been preparing the 70 ft in height and 120 ft in width pandal since last one month. “We will install 20 CCTV cameras for security purpose and also have 300 security personnel.” “This apart we are preparing a 300-ft Ravana for the ultimate action.”
It may be mentioned here that last year the puja committee constructed a replica of Albert Hall Museum, the State Museum of Rajasthan. In 2017, they paid homage to the Bhubaneswar Railway Station by creating its replica.
