Paramour held for murder of woman in Tikhari jungle

Titilagarh: Police cracked the murder of a woman in Tikhari reserve forest under Muribahal police limits in Bolangir district as it arrested her paramour for the offence Sunday.

The body when recovered was found nude and tied to a tree. The accused was identified as Haresh Bag (25) of Bagder village under Titilagarh police limits  while the deceased was Bharati Bindhani (32), a native of Narla village in Kalahandi district.

This was stated here by Titilagarh SDPO Saroj Mohapatra at a press meet held at Titilagarh police station premises here Sunday. The SDPO said that the deceased was married and a mother of four children.

However, after the death of her husband she left her in-laws village under Tumudibandh police limits in Kandhamal district and came to stay with her mother. Later she left home and  joined a construction site as labourer in Rajkot district of Gujarat.

There, she came in contact with Haresh working as a rod binder and developed a relationship with him. The two were in a live in relationship and stayed together at a rented house in Rajkot and in Titilagarh after returning to the state.

However, Haresh nursed a grudged against Bharati and decided to eliminate her following frequent fight between the couple. He took Bharati with him to Tikhari jungle August where he strangulated her and tied the body to a tree before absconding. Kantabanji SDPO Prafulla Mishra, Titilagarh IIC Bijayananda Karkara and his Muribahal counterpart Lokanath Bhoi were present in the press meet.
