Nuapara: Parents of Duleswar Kalet, a class-II boy from Semelpali village under Gandamer panchayat in Komna block of Nuapada district, have appealed the government and charitable organisations for financial assistance to cover the medical expenses of their visually challenged son.
Suru, father of Duleswar, is the sole breadwinner of a family of three and belongs to a financially marginalized section of the society. The treatment, meanwhile, requires far more than what he can afford. Unable to foot the medical bills of his son, he has approached Nuapara district collector Madhusmita Sahu for administrative intervention and financial help.
The collector, meanwhile, has asked the district headquarters hospital to look into the matter.
Son of Bhagini and Suru Kalet, the kid has been suffering from an unidentified disease for which he is unable to see. He is not been able to move without human assistance.
According to his parents, Duleswar started suffering from an eye ailment six months back for which he was unable to see clearly. After getting treated at several hospitals, no changes were observed in his condition. He completely lost his eyesight after undergoing an operation at AIIMS Raipur.
He has since stopped attending the school.
