Parents, teachers laud Mettle Meet effort

Bhubaneswar: Parents and teachers of participants at the ongoing Mettle Meet praised the initiative taken by Orissa POST.

A large number of parents and teachers said that such events help students in shaping their lives. Sarat Routray, whose son Soumyajeet, a Class XI student of Kendriya Vidyalaya 5, Kalinga Nagar is participating in this year’s Mettle Meet, said, “My son is interested in quizzing and I also encourage him. Quizzing helps in overall development. It also helps you when you prepare for competitive exams.”

Venkateswar English Medium School student Sarthak Panda’s mother Smruti Sarita too feels that quizzing helps students in the long run. “Quizzing helps in developing mental strength and career-building,” said Smruti, who encourages her son to pursue any stream that interests him.

DK Mahalik, whose son Paras is representing SAI international School at this year’s Mettle Meet, said, “Events like this must be organised more frequently. It’s not about winning or losing; what’s more important is participating in such events.”

ODM Public School teacher Payal Gupta, said, “Bhubaneswar has so many schools and bringing them under one roof and testing their general knowledge is a great thing.”
