Sethy had alleged two days ago that the SIT chief and IPS officer Arun Bothra had offered him Rs 5 lakh, thereby asking him to take the blame for 5-year-old Nayagarh girl Pari’s much-debated murder.
According to a source, officials of the investigating team have started interrogating Sethy, his mother and sister in connection with the alleged abduction and murder case at an undisclosed place.
Notably, the startling revelation came a day after the SIT submitted an affidavit informing the Orissa High Court (OHC) in Cuttack that the 5-year-old girl was sexually assaulted prior to being killed.
“The SIT members collected my blood and swab samples as well as my clothes from our house. Arun Bothra offered me Rs 5 lakh to take the blame for the Pari murder,” Sethy had stated December 17 claiming that his name has been falsely implicated in the case.
“Even though I am above 18 years of age, the SIT chief had assured me of reducing the age to claim that I am a juvenile so that quantum of punishment can be relaxed,” the college student had added.
