BHUBANESWAR: Bhubaneswar Art Trail (BAT) and Utshan Foundation in collaboration with Bhubaneswar Development Authority, Bhubaneswar Muncipal Cooperation and Tourism Department are going to organise a mega art trail, which would be inaugurated on 18th November in Old town here.
Twenty artists from various states including Odisha and abroad will participate in the event. Gigi Scaria, Sudarshan Shetty, Markus Baenziger, Cecile Beau, Pratul Dash, Satyabhama Majhi among others will participate at the event. They were shortlisted at a special meeting held Tuesday.
Sculptor art will also be featured at the event. Sculptors Teja Gavankar, Arnika Ahldag and Sailen Routray will also participate at the event. Architects Saintan Mitra and Shivnanda Bhol will also present their architectural finesse.
The project will be thrown open to the public from 19th November. It is to be held in a trail of 1.3 km in old town with street houses, medieval monuments, contemporary architecture, schools, shops and public institutions among others. The project will develop monuments in the adjoining areas without hampering their structures.
Localites are also participating in this event by providing their residential spaces for display of the artworks. Artist Jagannath Panda said that this will be the first large scale public art project in Odisha. It is an attempt to promote Bhubaneswar as the heritage city of India. It is a wonderful opportunity for artists to showcase their talent.
