Tuesday, the town recorded 45.5 degrees. While the MeT department said the heatwave condition would continue to prevail, the intense heat has severely affected normal lives in the area.

Locals are going through unwanted problems due to the heat condition. Labourers are deprived of income source as they cannot step out of their houses for work. They are having a hard time in fetching food without any work.

The town wears a deserted look as no one dares to come out of their houses after 10AM. Business in the town has been hit as villagers have stopped going to the town to sell their products. Moreover, farmers are not able to go to work in their farms.

The administration has arranged water kiosks along roadsides. The worst sufferers are animals and birds. With most of the water bodies getting dried up in the heat, birds are having hard time to fetch water.

Many local youths encouraged people to keep water bowls on top of their houses for birds. They called the residents to keep water for domestic and stray animals outside their houses.

On the other hand, the administration has been spreading awareness on ways to beat the heat.
