Bhubaneswar: The upcoming PEETHA Camp at panchayat-level will be organised from January 15 to 20 which will focus on KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) scheme. All the components under KALIA scheme at GP level will be discussed during the PEETHA Camp.
The state government has approved KALIA scheme to further accelerate agricultural prosperity and reduce poverty in Odisha. It covers 92 per cent of the cultivators, loanee as well as non-loanee farmers, sharecroppers (actual cultivators) and landless agricultural labourers. In order to achieve objective of the scheme, wide-scale publicity through PEETHA Camps is planned. It can be mentioned here that the Government of Odisha has launched PEETHA (People’s Empowerment-Enabling Transparency and Accountability of Odisha Initiatives) programme as part of 3-T initiative (Technology, Transparency and Team work). Under this programme it has been decided to organize special camps at Gram Panchayat level across the State from 15th to 20th of every month.
