Nimapara: A peon at Nimapara tehsil office was arrested Saturday on charges of abusing and threatening the tehsildar, Kamaljit Singh.
The accused identified as Bijayakrushna Das allegedly entered the tehsildar’s chamber and abused him for holding up his salary over some issue. Besides, Das also threatened the tehsildar of dire consequences if the latter did not release his salary.
On the basis of a written complaint filed by Singh, a case (150/18) under various Sections of the IPC have been registered against Das and an investigation is underway, said the police.
According to sources, Das was issued a show-cause notice for his frequent absence in the office. However, the accused refused to accept the notice following which disciplinary action was initiated against him. An angry Das verbally abused the tehsildar and threatened him.
