People want a change: Dharmendra Pradhan

Kendrapara: Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Friday participated BJP’s Janaparamarsa Padyatra organised from Patuli village to Olavar college field and later went to attend the general meeting organised at Olavar college field.

While addressing the gathering, Pradhan, criticised the state government. He alleged the ruling government has reached to the extreme in corruption, incapability and callousness. The Naveen government has failed from all quarters as BJD has failed to solve unemployment issue whereas women are insecure and farmers are now in distress. People in general now have made up their mind for a political change and it is definitely going to be made in 2019 general election, Pradhan said.

Since Narendra Modi led NDA government came to power in centre, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana(PMUY) has enhanced in Orissa taking the LPG connection from 20 persons out of 100 in 2014 to 70 per 100 persons till date, he added.

He further stated that PMUY is a flagship programme of Government of India which is intended to provide access to clean cooking LPG to poor households. The Ujjwala Yojana has been immensely useful in transforming the lives of underprivileged especially poor women and children.

Access to clean LPG has freed poor households from indoor pollution that causes respiratory and lung diseases. Poor women have been relieved from the drudgery of collecting firewood. In Odisha, 41 lakh LPG connections have been provided to poor households till date. Poor women of Orissa have been relieved from the drudgery of collecting firewood

The Union Minister also criticised the Food supply and consumer Welfare minister, Surya Narayan Patro, for giving false information related to Ujjwala scheme. As he was entangled with failure, so he jealous on the development made by Modi government, Pradhan said.

Former Minister and senior BJP leader, Manmohan Samal, Bishnu Das, Utkal Keshari Parida, Alekha Jena and other district level leaders were also present in the meeting.
