Nayagarh: Nayagarh collector Poma Tudu Saturday suspended four panchayat executive officers (PEOs) for misappropriating pension and swindling funds meant for development work.
The suspended PEOs have been identified as Ramesh Chandra Nayak of Khalasakhaman panchayat under Daspalla block, Pankajini Mallick of Sorada panchayat under Nuagaon block, Dambarudhar Nayak of Udaipur panchayat and Ramesh Chandra Behera of Shalajharia panchayat under Khandapada block.
According to District Panchayati Raj Officer (DPO) Ratikant Acharya, Ramesh Chandra Nayak, Pankajini and Dambarudhar were alleged to have withdrawn pension even after the beneficiaries died while Ramesh Chandra Behera was alleged to have misappropriated funds meant for various development works in the panchayat.
This decision has been as per the 5T action plan.
