Bhadrak: Town police arrested a pharmacist for allegedly attempting to outrage the modesty of a woman who has recently given birth to a baby boy. The incident took place at a nursing home located at Gandhi Padia late Sunday night.
Sources said that a woman from a village in Jajpur district had been admitted at the nursing home following her complaint of labour pain three days ago. She delivered a baby boy through cesarean Saturday. She was to be discharged Monday. But it was Sunday night when the woman experienced a nightmare. The pharmacist on night duty managed to send her husband away from the cabin, asking him to get an injection for his wife.
Then the pharmacist latched the door from inside and tried to outrage her modesty. The woman in turn resisted his advances and cried aloud for help. Hearing her scream, her relatives ran to her rescue. They found the door latched from inside and subsequently reported the matter to the nursing home authorities who in turn alerted the police.
