Puri: Students of IMT Pharmacy College here have extended their support to the plastic-free Odisha campaign launched by Orissa POST and Dharitri.
At least 350 students of DMLT, B.Pharma, D.Pharma and M.Pharma along with their teachers Friday took a pledge to keep their campus plastic and polythene free.
College administrative officer Manoj Rath blamed rampant use of plastic and polythene for environment pollution. “Plastic is causing harm to the environment and the biodiversity. Proper awareness among people can only tackle the menace,” he said.
Among others, lecturers Bijay Kumar Sahu, Tusar Mahapatra, Dharmendra Pradhan, Alaka Priyadarshini Kar and Binapani Barik were present on the occasion.
Notably, the state government has announced to ban use of polythene from October 2.
