Phulbani: Love defies reasons, boundaries and distances. The adage was once again proved true when a Swedish girl Saturday tied the nuptial knot with her boyfriend, a resident of the Hanuman Temple village in Phulbani town of Kandhamal district.
Cupid struck Mohammad Azharuddin of this village who works in Goa way back in 2011. It was then he met Ima Lore Bhoit who was in Goa as a tourist. The two got to know each other and soon what started as a casual conversation transformed into love.
Ima, however, had to leave for Sweden. However, the two kept in touch over the social media and soon Ima invited Azharuddin to Sweden and found him a job in the company she was working for in 2012. The bond between the two got strong with every passing day and both decided to spend the rest of their lives together. The families of both also did not object.
Ima and Azharuddin have been visiting Phulbani since 2012. However, it was Saturday only when they officially became husband and wife. Their marriage ceremony was solemnised following all Muslim rituals. More than 20 relatives of Ima flew over to participate in the festivities. Local people also had a great time clicking selfies and groupfies with Phulbani’s Swedish daughter in law.
