The little girl, called Maharani, was filmed applying medicine to a huge 4.5-metre (15ft) Burmese python to treat its mouth ulcer, in central Indonesia.
Maharani, who has also been filmed brushing her pet crocodile’s teeth, can be seen swabbing the python’s gums to treat a mouth ulcer, in Tangerang City.
She is said to have acquired her animal-loving nature from her father, who provides care for injured exotic animals – and she has been interacting with the dangerous reptiles since she was two.
When asked about concerns for his daughter’s safety with the animals, he said: ‘I understand what others are feeling.
‘It is true that I am sometimes scared, but after seeing her interaction with the animal, the scary feeling goes away.
‘The first time she plays with a wild animal, I always watch and give her directions what to do. ‘But now, she understands what to do – as well as what is forbidden.
‘Every time she treats them, Maharani always cries and the animal will follow what she needs them to do. ‘It is never easy to handle a python with a mouth ulcer. The animal must be stressed and doesn’t want to be touched.
‘When my mother touched the python, it twisted very tightly on her arm and hurt her. But when Maharani took care of it, the python relaxed.
‘To be honest, I don’t have any worries about her now when she plays with them. I don’t know why. I believe in her, and so do the animals.’
