PIL against Salman Khan’s ‘Bharat’

Mumbai: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s upcoming film ‘Bharat’ is eagerly being waited for. Its posters, promos, trailer etc are all out and are being highly appreciated by the audience. However, controversies and Salman can never be far away from one-another.

According to reports, the film which is set to release June 5 can land in trouble. A petition has been filed Thursday against the film by Vipin Tyagi at the Delhi High Court.

As per the petition, the title of the film violates ‘Section-3 of Emblems & Names Act’. According to it, the word ‘Bharat’ cannot be used for commercial advantages.

Adding to it, the petitioner has also sought changes in the dialogue where the one of the characters of Salman has been compared to the country as it hurts the patriotic sentiments of the Indian people.

‘Bharat’ is an adaptation of the Korean film An Ode to My Father. Apart from Salman and Katrina, the film also features Tabu, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover and Jackie Shroff.

The film has been directed by Ali Abbas Zafar while Film’s Reel Life Productions Pvt Ltd and Salman are producing it.
