Piramal Sarvajal water ATMs ‘a big draw’

Bhubaneswar: The authorities of Piramal Sarvajal programme initiated by Piramal Foundation Wednesday claimed that water consumption from water ATMs in city has been increasing rapidly since February 2018.

Briefing the media here, Piramal Sarvajal CEO Anuj Sharma said, “Water consumption from our installed water ATMs has been increased from 89,731 litres in February 2018 to over 27 lakh till January 2019.

Sharma claimed that each ATM dispenses 300 litre per day and 40 ATMs dispense 12,000 litre a day. “Each consumer can avail 10 litre of water per day at free of cost and later they can avail one litre at Re 1. Forty water ATMs have delivered 29 lakh litre of water since 2016 across the city,” he added.

Piramal Sarvajal, in association with Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), has deployed four purification plants, installed 40 water ATMs across the city through a unique ‘Hub & Spoke’ model.
