Bhadrak: A written complaint was lodged with Chandbali police against a medicine store at Dolamandap under Chandbali block in Bhadrak district Thursday for allegedly selling expired medicines.
According to information, Dillip Das of Chasakhanda village of Mato panchayat in the district was suffering from fever and was undergoing treatment at Dolamandap primary health centre Wednesday. Doctors prescribed him some medicines following which he purchased those from a nearby pharmacy and consumed it. However, his fever continued.
Later, when he looked at the medicine cover, he found that the medicines’ use-by-date had expired.
He went back to the pharmacy and confronted the owner. However, a verbal spat ensued between the duo when the latter allegedly refused to admit that he had given Dillip the expired medicines.
After being treated unfairly, he lodged a complaint with the police Thursday afternoon.
“I will also report this matter to District Drugs Inspector soon,” said Dillip.
