Jajpur: The office of the engineer-in-chief (civil) has prepared the plan estimate for the 100-bed Jajpur Medical College.
Chief Engineer Satyarnajan Sethi has submitted details of the cost estimate in his letter to the family welfare and health department. Sethi has sought approval of the department to the medical college, apart from requesting the department to sanction necessary funds. The cost of the medical college has been estimated at Rs 370.11 crore.
The medical college building will be constructed through a turn-key method. He has proposed one per cent for contingency, one per cent for quality control, two per cent for super consultancy in the plan estimate.
The plan estimate includes construction of an approach road and an arterial road on the hospital premises at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore, site development, beautification and boundary wall construction at a cost of Rs 2 crore. A 12 per cent GST and 18 per cent super consultancy have also been added in the cost-sheet.
Meanwhile, Collector Ranjan Kumar Das initiated the tender process for the medical college Tuesday. He said the district headquarters hospital will be used as a practical block for the medical college. The administrative block and new buildings of the medical college will be set up on 20 acres at Akula.
As kidney and cancer cases are more in Jajpur, another 8 acres of land will be provided to set up a centre of excellency for these diseases.
Besides, a trauma care centre will be set up at Panikoili at a cost of Rs 98 crore. Two sites have been identified for an ESI hospital at Duburi.
The Collector also said that Jajpur Road CHC would be upgraded and funds allocated from the district mineral fund foundation.
