Bhubaneswar: The admission into Plus II courses in junior colleges started Monday.
Students selected as per the first cut-off list published by the School and Mass Education department can take admission at their preferred colleges.
In the first phase, a total of 3,41,927 students have been selected for admissions into Arts, Commerce, Science, Sanskrit streams and Vocational Education.
The admission process on the basis of first cut-off list will continue till July 5.
Later, the second cut-off list will be published July 10 for which the admission will be conducted from July 11 to July 12.
The classes for junior college students are scheduled to begin from July 24.
As per reports, the Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School in Cuttack topped the list for Science stream with 88.83 per cent, while BJB Higher Secondary School in Bhubaneswar came second with 88.33 per cent. Berhampur-based Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Neelakantha Nagar was the third-most sought after college in the state with 88 per cent.
The Sainkul College in Ghasipura block of Keonjhar district recorded the highest cut-off in Arts stream at 78.97 per cent while the highest cut-off for Commerce was at BJB Higher Secondary School at 78.2 per cent.
As many as 4, 41,306 students had registered their names for admission into Plus II junior colleges across the state through offline and online mode in between June 1 and 23.
