PM lays stone for CUO projects

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for various infrastructure projects, including the administrative building, at the Central University of Odisha (CUO) in virtual mode, Tuesday. The projects will come up at an estimated cost of Rs 129 crore. The online event was organised in the presence of CUO vice chancellor Chakradhar Tripathi and Member of Parliament (MP) from Kalahandi constituency Basant Kumar Panda, among others.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Panda thanked the prime minister for sanctioning the amount. He said that in the period of Amrut Kaal, the university will achieve more success in the future. He further said that the goal of NEP-2020 aims at achieving the Indian ethos in education. He urged the students to pledge to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation through education. Tripathi extended his gratitude to Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan for his continuous effort in the progress of the university. He said the sanction has been made for the construction of various buildings including two academic blocks, one administrative building, one library building, and two hostels (boys and girls). He said that in the future various activities are planned to be implemented, including the establishment of a Charkha Centre. The unemployed locals will be engaged in the preparation of garments using Charka for which special training will be provided to them.
