Rourkela: The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in a communiqué has reportedly assured former Rourkela MLA Dilip Ray that the work of the second bridge across Brahmani river and that of the conversion of IGH into a super speciality hospital are being expedited.
Ray was quite miffed with the BJP leadership over the delay in execution of the twin projects.
The communiqué also said that work has already been initiated by the Union Steel Ministry as per the revised estimate for the hospital project.
The SAIL has provided Rs 98 crore, one third of the revised cost, to the NBCC.
Ray was told that the fund has been transferred to SAIL through SBI February 21 while remaining funds will be provided in time.
Ray has expressed his happiness over such development.
NBCC has floated a tender for construction of the super speciality hospital in the Steel City. Notably, the cost of the project has been estimated at Rs 294.82 crore.
Ray said that he had been fighting for the cause of the super speciality hospital as people of the Steel City have been facing problems in healthcare.
He also added that there are several other demands, but he had focused on two major demands of the people – the super speciality hospital and the second Brahmani Bridge.
He noted that the PMO’s assurance is a great relief for the people.
