Police arrest four fake aspirants during non-teaching staff recruitment exam at NIT Rourkela

Rourkela: Police arrested four fake aspirants who attempted to appear for non-teaching staff recruitment examination at National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Odisha’s Rourkela, a source said Sunday.

The four accused were identified as Gaurav Chauhan, Manish Kumar, Puneet Singh, and Sunil. All of them are residents of Haryana.

According to the source, the security personnel at the examination center initially detained the four persons out of suspicion.

Later, they were arrested by the cops based on an FIR filed by NIT authorities.

Rourkela DSP Pushpanjali Lingi said that they have seized all the mobile phones, documents, and electronic devices from the possession of the accused persons.

Police have launched a probe into the matter and the accused persons will be produced before a court, Lingi informed.

Notably, NIT Rourkela is conducting non-teaching staff recruitment examination from August 16 to 27.
